Hotfixes for Release 2009 incl. Service Pack 5

Below hotfixes all require that Service Pack 5 is installed prior to applying the hotfix.

MIKE 11

The present hotfix solves a problem for bridge module calculations in the case where non-relative resistance values (i.e. Manning’s n, Manning’s M, Chezy, Darcy Weisbach) are applied in the cross section file for cross sections adjacent to bridges.

MIKE 21 & MIKE 3

MIKE 21/3 SA: Spill analysis engine checked for both particle and spill analysis licenses. With this hot-fix only the latter will be required for spill analysis modeling.

MIKE 21/3 PT: resolving allocation error for oblong domains

Particle Tracking FM: resolving memory constrains (by option parameter) for pulse release of particles using a time series

MIKE BASIN

Ptotals in the load result table in Load Calculator are wrong.

This hot-fix resolves the issue when several storage demand rules are added to the same reservoir.

MIKE SHE

The hot-fix solves the following issue: MIKE SHE WM crashes when too many groundwater extraction warnings are printed.
A few MIKE SHE WM models have had this problem. Each time a ground water extraction is closed due to drying layers, a warning is printed in the _WM_Print.log file. The log file becomes huge, and in some cases this results in a crash without notice. The number of warnings per groundwater extraction has now been limited to 10 – with a message that no further warnings will be issued for this extraction.

MIKE URBAN

Problems opening diurnal pattern dialog with some setups on Win7 fixed.

When using the result from a RDI + UHM runoff calculation as an input to a network calculation an error message would appear.

If selecting the MIKE 21 ground level for the man hole crest (through the dhiapp.ini file) the MIKE FLOOD model may generate synthetic discharge due to ground level mismatch. This hot-fix ensures that the discharge is zero when the MIKE 21 topography is dry and the water level in the manhole is below the ground level.

The hotfix includes two settings in the dhiapp.ini file. The settings NON_RETURN_VALVE_STARTUP_PERIOD and NATURAL_DEPTH_SLOPE_NEW enables user control of the startup period for a non-return valve and the use of an alternative natural depth calculation.

MOUSE

MIKE 11

Running AD simulations using a time varying time step requires this hot-fix.

This hot-fix is required for the runtime adaptor to run 64 bit operating systems.

MIKE 11 GIS

This hotfix resolves the error that cross-sections could not be extended in MIKE 11 GIS.

MIKE 21 & MIKE 3

MIKE 3 HDAD (classic): Error in QUICKEST_SHARP transport scheme when handling multiple components in source fixed.

MIKE 3 MT (classic): Error in transformation of waves into nested areas fixed.

MIKE BASIN

This hotfix will speed up the initialization phase when used in conjunction with water quality modelling.

The hotfix resolves an error with the potential crop yield calculation in the irrigation nodes of MIKE BASIN.

MIKE FLOOD

MIKE URBAN

This hotfix resolves an error when using PMR-files as boundary to a pipeflow simulation.

This hot-fix resolves the issue with displaying negative chainages and unit conversions not being done properly in MIKE VIEW.

Hotfix relaxes the error messages on pumps and valves in pressure main network sections if the keywords (AllowPMlinksConnectToValves, AllowPMlinksConnectToPumps) and in the DHIAPP.INI file are set to 1.

When trying to add some result statistic layers an error message appears and the layer is not shown.

MIKE VIEW

This hot-fix resolves the issue with displaying negative chainages and unit conversions not being done properly.

Below hotfixes all require that Service Pack 3 is installed prior to applying the hotfix.

MIKE 11 GIS

This hotfix resolves the following issues:

• X values in raw data table are not ascending sorted when creating cross-sections using survey points
• Problems extending cross-sections due to inaccuracies in snapping

MIKE 21 & MIKE 3

MIKE 21/3 Oil Spill: A large number of changes have been made in the Oil Spill module to correct and improve functionality.

The following issues have been fixed and changed:

• GUI:
  An error caused the GUI not to accept external files to specify sources, time series, etc.
• Engine:
  1) For concentration calculations the still-water depth was used. This has been changed to current total water depth.
  2) Source definitions are now handled in a smarter way. Prior to this hotfix source specifications where applied “per particle”, thus changing the number of particles would change the source flux. Now source items classified as mass or concentration in the model formulations are by default scaled to the number of particles whereas other items (e.g. viscosity) are applied per particle. The old behaviour can be switched on by unselecting a checkbox in the source dialog
• Oil Spill Template:
  1) Water viscosity was wrongly specified as kinematic viscosity [m2/s] instead of dynamic viscosity [Pa s].
  2) A constant was wrongly specified as “grain diameter [mm]” but needs to be given as “average grain radius [m]”, causing deviations in the expected settling speed.
  3) The wax and asphaltene fraction was assumed to have an initial mass of 10kg each. Now the given fractions are used. This may influence the emulsion behaviour. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FRACTIONS REMAIN CONSTANT DURING SIMULATION, I.E. THE RELEATIVE AMOUNT OF WAX/ASPHALTENE DO NOT CHANGE. THIS WILL PROBABLY BE CHANGED IN FUTURE RELEASES.

Known defect: The GUI probably does not set the right wind type when time and spatial varying wind field components are selected. If you get the error message "Format not supported for PT/OS wind forcing" try to manually edit the setup file (*.noil). Search the section labelled [WIND_FORCING] and replace ”format = 0” with “format = 3”.

MIKE 21 HD (classic): Time steps in landslide bathymetry no longer needs to cover entire simulation period.

MIKE BASIN

Load calculator crashes due to OutOfMemory exception.

MIKE URBAN

Weir not initialized correctly when jumping to new job in LTS simulation.

Issue fixed with respect to generation of numeric water in computations with Pressure Mains using implicit solution.

Data Manager: Problems when subtracting two dfsu files resolved.

MOUSE

This hotfix implements the following changes:
1. Issue fixed with respect to generation of numeric water in computations with Pressure Mains using implicit solution
2. Correction in the MIKE FLOOD River/Urban link. The problem occurs with some setups only and results in no flow exchange between the models (MOUSE/MIKE 11)
3. Weir not initialized correctly when jumping to new job in LTS simulation

Below hotfixes all require that Service Pack 2 is installed prior to applying the hotfix.

MIKE 11

Hotfix solves problem of flow control through Pump structures where pumps would stop operating when controlling water level dropped below zero - even though the stop-level has been defined to a value below zero.

This hot-fix resolves an issue with memory consumption when running MIKE 11 in an OPENMI setting. If you are coupling MIKE 11 to another OpenMI compatible model you should apply this hot-fix.

MIKE 21 & MIKE 3

Issue with location of sources in 3D bathymetry resolved.
In some cases you need to include some option parameters in the Hydrodynamic Section of the input:

MIKE SHE

The Hot Fix solves a problem in the MIKE SHE PreProcessor:
When the MIKE SHE setup is based on a geographic coordinate systen (not NON-UTM) and the Rotation of the model domain is close to 0, the check of the rotation of DFS2 input files is too restrictive and results in error messages or warnings in some cases. Error messages when the input file contains Integer grid codes (precipitation station codes, etc.), and warnings that interpolation will be made when the file contains Real data (topography, etc.).

This Hot Fix corrects a geographic rotation error in the 2009 Release. The error only appears when you have defined your model domain as a shape file based on a Geographic coordinate system (not NON-UTM) and then also define another property (e.g. topography) using a point theme shape file and the same Geographic coordinate system. The error is usually noticeable only in detailed models with fine discretizations.

MIKE URBAN

This hotfix is only relevant for 2D Overland Flow and resolves the following 2 issues:

1. Support for projections other than UTM based. 
2. Coupling area polygons sometimes not aligned with DEM grid cells.

If you get this incorrect error message in MIKE View (installed together with MIKE URBAN): "Not the correct file for Demo Version", you should install this hotfix.

MIKE 21 & MIKE 3

The new oil spill model requires this hot-fix to run.

MIKE FLOOD

This hotfix implements the following changes:

1. The simulation runtime for MIKE FLOOD models using MIKE 21 rectangular grid is reduced. Reduction in runtime will be most significant for models with a high number of flooded MIKE 21 cells and a high number of MIKE 21 cells receiving water from links to MIKE 11 and/or MIKE URBAN (MOUSE engine). To significantly reduce the simulation runtime the average number of flooded MIKE 21 cells multiplied by number of linked MIKE 21 cells has to be more than approximately 10^8. This part of the hotfix does not change the simulation results.
2. The flow area used to estimate momentum transfer through standard links between MIKE 11 and MIKE FLOOD has been modified to correspond to the cell length times the depth
