MIKE Marine GIS is a powerful tool for management of almost all relevant data involved in for instance the monitoring of the morphological evolution in the coastal zone.
MIKE Marine GIS is typically used to:
- store various data used in coastal engineering applications in a project based data structure
- easily access the stored data and obtain additional information and knowledge about the shoreline using facilities available in MIKE GIS
- easy export of data for use in DHI's software products
MIKE GIS can handle many data types normally used in coastal engineering. This includes:
- data from surveys of the bathymetry and topography (x,y,z data) (surveys)
- data collected along a line, for instance a coastal profile (transects)
- coastal zone data - this consists of data on shoreline locations, photos, land use classification, sediment locations, geology and hydrology (coastal zone)
- time series of wind, water levels, waves, currents (Hydrographic data)
- model output through a seamless link between link between GIS and MIKE by DHI software
