2D Morphological Modelling The 2-day course supplies professionals such as modelling practitioners and engineers with detailed knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of the curvilinear model MIKE 21C. The aim is to enable you to establish modelling areas with the MIKE 21C grid generator and to set up, check the quality of grid and bathymetry, execute and interpret hydrodynamics, sediment transport and morphology models using the MIKE 21C modelling system. The course can be tailored so that topics are focussed on introducing different types of morphological problems, like reservoir sedimentation, short-term and long-term channel development, or bank erosion. Participants are expected to be acquainted with the functionalities and operations of MIKE 21 HD and ST. Topics - Introduction to MIKE ZERO pre-processors and postprocessors
- Curvilinear grid and bathymetry generation
- Introduction to MIKE21C HD (hydrodynamics); hydrodynamic model establishment
- Introduction to MIKE21C ST (sediment transport); sediment transport model establishment
- Introduction to morphological modelling; morphological model establishment
- Introduction to the concepts: fully dynamic, quasi-steady, and scaled modelling
- Interface with other numerical modelling tools
- Results presentation
- Introduction to different types of morphological problems within river engineering that can be handled by the MIKE 21C model
- Short introduction to the flexible mesh model MIKE 21FM with focus on the sediment module
